Storyline

A reboot of the 1979 movie that was directed by Martin Brest and featured George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg. Three seniors, who are living social security check to check and even reduced to eating dog food at times, decide they have had enough. So, they plan to rob a bank...problem is, they don't even know how to handle a gun! A social commentary on growing old in America and what we are sometimes driven to, due to circumstances.

REVIEW

Going with Style's running time is about 96 minutest, the movie is PG-13 rated and is showing right now in the cinemas and tells us the story of being desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, three lifelong pals risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.  It is the story Willy, Joe, and Albert. They are friends, they worked together, they retired, and they just want to be happy until the end of their days. As they discover that the pension of their retirement was liquidated, they are faced with problems. So they want to this person who is responsible for this. This is the bank, where they have the retirement accounts. So they decide to rub the bank. So this is a hist movie.

The CAST begins with  Michael Kaine as Joe, here in this movie he is the cool and stylish sugar daddy. He has an intelligent humor. When he hears that the pension fund was dissolved, he is so helpless and so emotional, and he plays that really good. You can see his Hollywood experience. He feels sad but also responsible for his family in the movie. That went deep into my heart, because I want to be like this, too, when I retire, and my kids and my family shall not be faced with problems and money issues.

Then we have Morgan Freeman as Willy, the perfect extension to Joe. He is also cool, but more ironic and easy going in his way of acting. He is taking care a lot of his own health. He has his own part in the movie, and so he gives the movie a lot of cool and twisty sites.

Lastly we have Allen Arkin and Albert, who is he most willing and most powerful of all of them. He is a player, he knows that there is more in life than what he had.

All of them are good guys actually, and so to rub a bank is a true challenge for them.

The CAMERA is intelligent, cutting the movie is an important style. For e.g. there is a call, where all of three are in there, separated by cutting edges, and this is used a lot in the movie. Those edges are moving, and they twisted into each other.

The MUSIC is full of swing and jazz.

The SETTINGS is the bank or the house of the three.

There are no EFFECTS in the movie.

 CONCLUSION:
What I like about the movie is the storytelling, it is a hist movie, with the guys who retired, very funny. The cast is cool, the style and the humor is a good one. The movie does not want to be funny, but because of the style of the three it is something new. That is why the title is Going With Style.

What I did not like is, that it is a bit too long, some twists are repeating and some cuts are repetitive, too. It could be more funny and cool. We know what will happen, sometimes too fast and too much. It uses filling parts and sequences of characters, which are useless.

So for its genre comedy and crime I will give it 6/10 and overall 5/10. Thanks for reading, have fun while watching movies.
