THE CONJURING

PART 2 REVIEW

Storyline

In 1977, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren travel to London, England, where single mother Peggy Hodgson believes that something evil is in her home. When Peggy's youngest daughter starts showing signs of demonic possession, Ed and Lorraine attempt to help the besieged girl, only to find themselves targeted by the malicious spirits.

Review

The Conjuring 2 has a running of incredible 134 minutes, the movie is R-rated, and is available on Blu-Ray and DVD and tell us the story about Ed and Lorrain Warren, both are hunting for paranormal activities and do that with request coming from the church. They became more famous that compared to part 1 and they visit a lot of TV shows to clear up about ghost and deamons, but some people still laugh about them. But most of all there is a case called the Enfield Polterghost, happenings which are based on a true story happened in London in 1977. The media was reporting about it and it is someho strange to see a movie with this character, which is based on a true story.

First of all let me tell you something about movie series. The problem is most of the time that the first part is the best and after that the quality becomes lower and lower. The Conjuring 2is nothing like this. The Conjuring 2is psycho terror at its best. James Wan did an incredible job again and the first part set high and new standards already in the horro gene, but The Conjuring 2 is best of the best. I was sweating for 134 minutes long and scared me like no other movie before.

The CAST is again set with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Lorraine and Ed Warren. That woman has visions, that woman can talk to ghosts, that woman is a media and contact. She is weak and strong at the same time, she is incredible in using her face, showing to be scared, and not to know what will happen next. The movies begins with a scene where she is walking in a house and relives a murder and she is loading a gun in her hands. This is so cool and authentic played, that The Conjuring 2 makes pretty fast clear this is not a funny movie. By her side there is Patrick Wilson as Ed. both have a lot of screen time and tell us their love story, an perfect addition to Vera. Then we have Madison Wolf in the Hodson family. She is the person who has the most interaction with the deamon. What she is performing in her young age already is incredible. How can you teach a kid to perform like this. Respect. And then we have Francis O'Connor the mother of the kids, who is left alone, she has to deal with a lot problems, and then this kind of ghost. At then edn of the movie she is like a wrack in person, she cannot stand it anymore.

The CAMERA in The Conjuring 2 is great, dark and scary, uses some jump scares, and looks like a friend to me who wants to tell us each situation in details. James Wan did a wise choice of moments, when you cannot see what will happen next and dark and quick scaries.

The SETTING is most of time the house of the Hodgsons.

The MUSIC is great, high noise and massively something used not to forget soon.

The EFFECTS are impressive here. James Wan uses lights as an important style, where is light in the middle of the room but not in the corners. Hands are coming out of walls. Little time jumps are also been used, when you are look to the side, then in front again, then to the side again an suddenyl there is something in front of you.

CONCLUSION:
The Conjuring 2 is a master peace of horror. The movie makes clear it is about horror, the first 70 minutes are purely deeply going into your psycho. Than there is more story coming, because of the super performance of the cast, than the showdown. The storytelling is the best of the best. It is great

Genre and overall 10/10 points.

THE CONJURING

PART 1 REVIEW

Storyline

In 1971, Carolyn and Roger Perron move their family into a dilapidated Rhode Island farm house and soon strange things start happening around it with escalating nightmarish terror. In desperation, Carolyn contacts the noted paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to examine the house. What the Warrens discover is a whole area steeped in a satanic haunting that is now targeting the Perron family wherever they go. To stop this evil, the Warrens will have to call upon all their skills and spiritual strength to defeat this spectral menace at its source that threatens to destroy everyone involved.

Review

The Conjuring has a running time of 113 minutes, the movie is R-rated and is available on Bul-Ray and DVD. It tells us the true story of the Perrons, who will be attacked by their house, by deamons, by something surreal. This until they don't know what to do anymore and so they are contacting the couple Warren, who are travelling from University to University to show, what they have seen already, since it comes out, that Ed and Lorraine are ghost hunters. The cellar of the Warren house is full of ghost treasures, and especially when they go into the house of the Perrons, the figure out that something strange and most terrible is going on.

The CAST is awesome. Vera Farmiga is Lorraine Warren, she is like the contact person to the deamons, who is so good in her performance. She showed that also in movies like Orphan, by her side Patrcik Wilson is also great. But most of all the kids in the movie are incredible in their performance.

The CAMERA is also great and Mister James Wan, who also directed SAW, Sinister, or Incidious, knows exactly how to use the camera, sometimes full of, sometimes POV, sometimes slow cuts into the directions where the deamon is supposed to be. It scared me so when I was watching it, and remember, he set high standards in 2013 already.

The SETTING is most ot the time the house of the Perrons.

The MUSIC is awesome, 70 style, cool music at all.

The EFFECTS are minor important, rather The Conjuring uses slow terror on a high level.

CONCLUSION
What I liked about the movie, is the overall performance of the characters, the kids are awesome in their acting, the camera is greeat, and the movie is quite short with 113 minutes, because the action is so fast and not tiriing, that it feels great and fun to watch The Conjuring.

What I did not like abou the movie, is that it tries to steal a bit from other horror movies like Paranormal Activity or the Hitcock movies, as well as some other movies, so we get a bit a feeling, that we saw some takes already, but it is a minor minus point on high level.

The Conjuring is a great movie, and still today something what I really like to watch again. So for its genre it has of course 10/10 points, overall 9.5/10 because of that minor critic.

Please excuse me, that I missed out the technical details today. You can find them on the DVD or Blu-Ray box easily or here.

Thanks for reading, and have fun watching movies.

I like the music at the beginning which is still the same compared to the movies of 2015, the characters are still the same, we even can see BB-8 and R2D2 again, which is so nice. The settings and effects look really good and I am kind of excited for this movie.

RANKING - MY FAVORITE TOP 10 HORROR MOVIES FROM 2016 TO 2017

Hello movie friends,

welcome to a new feature on my blog, and I thought about sharing my favorite movies with you from now on. So I try to do a ranking of my favorite movies in each genre like Horror, Action or SCI-FI, and I am going to create a ranking for you, so that you have a better understanding of my taste and of my personal favorites.

Today I want to start with the genre Horror, and here we are going to have a look at my favorites since 2016. There are 10 movies which I want to introduce to you, which are in my eyes the greatest of all Horror movies since the past 365 days. All of them will have their movie banner and a little storyline.

Enough talking, let's go :)

10. 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2016)

After a car accident, Michelle awakens to find herself in a mysterious bunker with two men named Howard and Emmett. Howard offers her a pair of crutches to help her remain mobile with her leg injury sustained from the car crash and tells her to "get good on those" before leaving the bunker. She has been given the information that there has been an alien attack and the outside world is poisoned. However, Howard and Emmett's intentions soon become questionable and Michelle is faced with a question: Is it better in here or out there?

9. THE BOY (2016)

Greta is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family's 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta's worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.

8. THE WITCH (2016)

New England, 1630: William and Katherine try to lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. 'The Witch' is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own sins, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil. In this exquisitely made and terrifying new horror film, the age-old concepts of witchcraft, black magic and possession are innovatively brought together to tell the intimate and riveting story of one family's frightful unraveling in the New England wilderness circa 1630. New England, 1630. Upon threat of banishment by the church, an English farmer leaves his colonial plantation, relocating his wife and five children to a remote plot of land on the edge of an ominous forest - within which lurks an unknown evil. Strange and unsettling things begin to happen almost immediately - animals turn malevolent, crops fail, and one child disappears as another becomes seemingly possessed by an evil spirit. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, family members accuse teenage daughter Thomasin of witchcraft, charges she adamantly denies. As circumstances grow more treacherous, each family member's faith, loyalty and love become tested in shocking and unforgettable ways. Writer/director Robert Eggers' debut feature, which premiered to great acclaim at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival - winning the Best Director Prize in the U.S. Narrative Competition - painstakingly recreates a God-fearing New England decades before the 1692 Salem witch trials, in which religious convictions tragically turned to mass hysteria. Told through the eyes of the adolescent Thomasin - in a star-making turn by newcomer Anya Taylor-Joy - and supported by mesmerizing camera work and a powerful musical score, The Witch is a chilling and groundbreaking new take on the genre.

7. THE FOREST (2016)

The Forest, which is set in the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared.  Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders into the forest.

6. CABIN FEVER (2016)

Executive producer Eli Roth presents this reboot of his instant classic gorefest, which features all new characters and all new kills. This story is familiar: fresh out of college, a group of five friends retreat to a remote cabin in the woods for one last week of partying- only to become snacks for a gruesome, flesh-eating virus. What’s surprising are the ingenious new deaths, which offer a fresh spin on a horror-comedy milestone. With Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf) and Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3).

5. A CURE OF WELLNESS (2017)

Tells the story of an employee (DeHaan) who is sent to rescue his boss from a European “wellness spa” but soon realizes he's trapped, and discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the health needs of its patients.

Read my review for this movie HERE.

4. GET OUT (2017)

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.
Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).
At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Read my review HERE.

3. DON'T BREATHE (2016)

Rocky, a young woman wanting to start a better life for her and her sister, agrees to take part in the robbery of a house owned by a wealthy blind man with her boyfriend Money and their friend Alex. But when the blind man turns out to be a more ruthless adversary than he seems, the group must find a way to escape his home before they become his newest victims.

2. MARTYRS (2016)

Ten-year-old Lucie flees from the isolated warehouse where she has been held prisoner. Deeply traumatized, she is plagued by awful night terrors at the orphanage that takes her in. Her only comfort comes from Anna, a girl her own age. Nearly a decade later and still haunted by demons, Lucie finally tracks down the family that tortured her. As she and Anna move closer to the agonizing truth, they find themselves trapped in a nightmare - if they cannot escape, a martyr's fate awaits them...

1. THE CONJURING 2 (2016)

Director James Wan brings this supernatural thriller to the screen with another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.. Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits. In 1977, where single mother Peggy Hodgson believes that something evil is in her home. When Peggy's youngest daughter starts showing signs of demonic possession, Ed and Lorraine attempt to help the besieged girl, only to find themselves targeted by the malicious spirits. The most impressive movie since I started to like Horror movies, with a pyscho terror from the very beginning on, full speed of Horror until the middle of the movie, then it cools down a bit to tell the story of the Hodgsons, then it speed ups again until the final. I was watching that movie, I was sweating all the time because of that terror which happens in that movie, and I was so much scared like never before, and pictures of the horror, which is performed so well, are still in my mind. This one is a master peace of horror movies.

And so this was the first ranking on my blog. Of course we can discuss about it, let me know what you think about these horror movies, wether you agree or disagree. Hope you find womething for yourself to watch, have fun, and see you soon. Thanks for reading.

9 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FAST AND FURIOUS 8 - FILM NEWS

Here are some good things you need to know about Fast and Furious 8, here is

FILM NEWS

1 of 9
Surprises at March's CinemaCon 2017 included an unannounced showing of The Fate of the Furious. Most of the principal cast assembled on-stage to introduce the movie. Read on for a no-spoilers look at what we learned.

2 of 9
Dwayne Johnson was noticeably absent from the presentation

Unfortunately, it seems like the on-set beef between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel will affect the press tour for the movie, because Johnson, who was everywhere at CinemaCon 2017, did not attend Universal's presentation.

Hopefully the well-documented on-set drama will resolve like a third act happy ending.

3 of 9

The on-screen dynamic between Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson makes you forget about any real-world problems

The script's most memorable dialogue is reserved for Statham's and Johnson's interactions, and they share a scene with the best stuntwork in the movie.

If there were ever a spin-off movie, we'd vote for it to center on Deckard Shaw and Hobbs.

4 of 9

OK, we seriously cannot stop thinking about Jason Statham

Aside from his banter with Johnson, Statham's classic parkour-meets-fisticuffs arsenal of bad-assery makes him as essential to the franchise as any of his co-stars. Most impressive is the fact that, for a bulk of the third act, he fights his way through scenes with one arm carrying precious cargo. And that's just one tease about his character's arc.

5 of 9

Like Charlize Theron's hairstyle, the plot has twists

Wrapped around a standard '80s-era Cold War thriller is an ultimatum handed to Dominic Torero that makes him embrace his former bad-guy side. If you scroll through the cast list, you can get an idea of what's coming. There are more than a few unexpected diversions and, as the title implies, fateful decisions made throughout the movie.

6 of 9

In this movie world, there's only light traffic in Manhattan

The second most commanding car-chase sequence takes place in Manhattan, where's there's barely any traffic until Cipher (Charlize Theron) says so. Dominic commutes into the city in record time!

7 of 9

All Helen Mirren needs is two scenes to make her essential to the movie

The most-welcome newcomer to the saga is Helen Mirren, who appears on screen in a tailored leopard print jacket and proceeds to add the first wrinkle to the just-hatched plot.

8 of 9

The "Game of Thrones" connection grows by one

Not only does Nathalie Emmanuel return as computer whiz Ramsey, but her "Game of Thrones" co-star Kristofer Hivju also joins the cast as Cipher's enforcer, Rhodes. And just like on the show, the two characters haven't met yet. (We're stepping around a spoiler here.)

9 of 9

There's a touching tribute to Paul Walker

Vin Diesel got choked up answering a question about Paul Walker prior to the screening, and the tribute paid to his legacy had us reaching for our kerchief at the end of the movie.

The Fate of the Furious opens in the U.S. on April 14, 2017

REVIEW

FAST & FURIOUS 8 has a running time of 136 minutes, the movie is PG-13 rated, and starts on April 14 / 15, 2017 and continuous the story of Dom Toretto. He lives in Cuba right now, and one day a cyber terrorist called Cipher and she is telling him something, what makes him acting against his own crew and family. He is fighting at the side of Cipher from now on. Cipher is massively clever and evil at the same time, so Mister Nobody calls the rest of the crew. He needs the help of Letty, Deckard, Ramsey, Roman, but also Hobbs. All together they are available to defeat Cipher and Dom. So here we have a story again which is about protecting the whole world. And so we have an action highlight of the year ala first class.

But before I can review that story and movie I have to mention two points, which you have to know: firstly, we have to recap the story, because you are watching the 8th part of a story, like of a series. The series started as an action movie, which was about cars, later on it became bigger and better, with more stars of Hollywood. FAST & FURIOUS 8 is continuing doing its job here. The series took its own way, it is not going back to good old times, it goes on and on, and stuff like what we had in the first movies is not there anymore. It is still about cars somehow, but it has a nowadays deeper story and FAST & FURIOUS 8 is telling it in a perfect way. Secondly, you could notice it already in the past. FAST & FURIOUS 8 is a bit unreal when it comes up to physics and normal things. That is normal for that series, because it creates a lot of fun and unexpected moments, when a viewer says wow I did not know that this was possible, I want to do it, too. That is the special character of those movies and FAST & FURIOUS 8 puts these standards to a higher level. It is mainstream, don't try to understand it too much, it is still creative and makes fun with a bag full of popcorn. It is pure fun to watch and for example we have busts of one liner, people are telling each other, that it was simply funny to see. So overall it is pure non sense but on the other hand it is fun and this is what I expect from a movie house visit.

The CAST is nothing new for the series. Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto, always in the movies. Cool guy, but not a lot of screen time this year, even though he is the character who give the story the kicks and twists. Why is he doing that? Inner circle spoken there is a point, where I can say okay I get it why he is doing it and the storytelling behind that is also okay.

The combination of Jason Statham and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is pure action and fun. These two hat each other, and they have so many one liner and bad words for each other, that it made a lot of fun to watch them being together in one team. The want to kill each other, but then they work together. Imagine this. So cool. The fighting choreography's are awesome, they  look real and the action is insane in this 8th parts. Those scenes are great, and full of high quality, which I liked a lot. The other crew members are business as usual, if you watched the previous parts.

Now let's talk about Charlize Theron as Cipher, a bad girl? I will leave you alone with question, watch the movie and you will find out. However, she is a powerful girl in that movie, and tell us something new like the fact, that a girl might be the evil person, is not common yet. She is outstanding in her performance, she has charm, intelligent, and compared to all the other cast members, she is the best in FAST & FURIOUS 8 in my eyes.

The CAMERA is high quality. It speeds up in the action sequences, fast and furious, a bit too much CGI maybe, so you can see the rendering in the background. But most of relatively colorful.

The SETTING is like the usual from Cuba, Island feeling, but also cities of Germany, and the Antarctic are placed in FAST & FURIOUS 8.

The MUSIC is a bit misplaced in the movie. It wants to give a homage to Hans Zimmer or Michael Bay, and in the slow motion scenes we have to much hard rock, which is too high leveled.

The EFFECTS are a bit too much digital, too much CGI, but very expensive.

Please note before I conclude that there will be 3 more parts coming in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and so here we have the beginning of a new movie series FAST & FURIOUS 8, which is a sequel of the second part.

CONCLUSION:
What I liked about the movie is, the crazy and not comparable to physics action, and the creative mind behind that. I cannot tell you more because this would be pure spoilers. I did not expect the action in some moments, this is so absurd and so unreal, that I was surprised for more than 100%, and so it' so funny. The storytelling is understandable, the behaviour of Dom is reasonable. It has more jokes than the other parts. The characters are more pointed out. It is pure popcorn main stream cinema action, nothing else. Don't forget that this part 8 of a series, this is really important, so that you can go to the cinema and tell yourself: okay, it is wow it is. We know the kind of action and humor of that series.

What I do not like about the movie is, because of the surreal action it might be boring and not funny for some of you.

So for FAST & FURIOUS 8 as an action highlight of the year and I am a fan of that series, I had a lot of fun while watching, I was amazed by the movie I will give it 9/10 points, compared to all the other movies 5.5/10 because of the said reasons, because it is nothing else than action.

For real fans of the FAST & FURIOUS series, go have fun, you will enjoy, and so I am done with that review of FAST & FURIOUS 8, in cinemas April 14/15, 2017. Thanks for reading and have fun while watching.
