CAST

REVIEW

LIFE's running time is about 103 minutes, it is R rated, and start this Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in cinemas.

First of all I was not expecting a lot from the movie, because we all know the setting already: space, spacestation, aliens, and trouble. This might lead to the conclusion that we have something like an Alien movie, but we don't. The movie is okay, but not overwhelming, that I have to watch it twice.

But let's start with the cast and Jake Gyllenhaal as the main character. Great actor, always awesome to watch him, but in some moments the script ruins his role, like for e.g. when he has his 5 minutes of having a monologue.

Also great to see Mister Deadpool Ryan Reynolds, someone who catches also emotionally, because he is the character who gives us the family's feelings, like in the trailer that he just became father. But he is also in scenes which are full of action and so damn brutal that I thought: wow fortunately this is R rated.

So for its genre as SCI-FI, more Thriller than SCI-FI it is a great cast.

The camera is extraordinary, all looks very scientific and on high standards and values. So for e.g. there is a scene where a eye tear drops out of the eye, and this is so detailed and clear to this, which is awesome. In the actions sequences it enhances its speed and during the brutal and bloody scenes, it shows us all. Again luckily this in a R rated movie, and we also have scenes, where the heart gets ripped out of the body of a person and the camera makes a total view of this, which is crazy to see, especially in the cinema.

The music is okay, and there no effects. So deep space motion is there, this is a SCI-FI movie.

So the question is: is this just an Alien rip off movie? I think it is not. I think do not go to the movie and think like this, because you might don't like the movie then, and it won't give it a chance to convince you, so that you can enjot the stay in the movie house.

So what I like about the movie are the first 50 minutes, to discover life in a way we have not seen before, catched me, and is impressive to see, also the combination of technology and individuals styles of people on how to deal with this new life is great to see.

What I did not like was the second part: the movie is brutal, it turns into a suspicious way of how to present the fight between humans and aliens, and it forgets its storyline a bit, so we got lost, and also the ending and the settings after the first 50 minutes are really easy to see, so that there are so suprises anymore.

So all in all for its genre which is more like a thriller and very brutal I give him 7 out of 10 points, over all 6.5 out of 10 points.

So if you like the cast and if you like the settings and atmosphere go and watch and have a lot of fun while watching.

Thank you, bye bye.

THE SHACK (2017) - REVIEW

A grieving man receives a mysterious, personal invitation to meet with God at a place called "The Shack."

TRAILER

STORYLINE

After the abduction and presumed death of Mackenzie Allen Phillips' youngest daughter, Missy, Mack receives a letter and suspects it is from God, asking him to return to The Shack where Missy may have been murdered. After contemplating it, he leaves his home to go to The Shack for the first time since Missy's abduction and an encounter that will change his life forever.

REVIEW

The Shack's running time is about 132 minutes, the movie is G rated, in cinemas in Europe by the beginning April, in Asia it was screened already, and is a Drama and Fantasy movie about a man, who lost everything in his life, like what we can see already in the trailer, especially mentioned, when his daughter was kidnapped. The Shack is also a movie, which deals with a lot of religious stuff about God, what is life, love, war, and also points the theory of Adam and Eve, who were living in the paradise made by God. The movie wants to deal with those serious topics, it turns out into a very dramatic religious movie, and I have already at the beginning of the review, that the movie is not good. Why this I will tell you later.

So let's start with the cast:
...
...
Papa
...
Willie

So the main character is Sam Worthington aka Mack, a father who lost eveything in his life, especially the believes and will to still being alive. His character is not convincing, he wants to be a mad and bad guy, his anger wants to come out, but the way he is pretending to be mad, bad, and sad is not good. Even after he got a letter from an unknown person and he gained back the will to do something in his life, he is someone like who is hard to motivate, and go for your goals.

Then we have Octavia Spencer as Papa, which means God here in the movie. She stands for something religious, for something who may have contact and being the bridge to God. She is the person who asks a lot like e.g. who is that person who has the power over us, who is watching us, what is good and bad in life, what is the meaning of being good or bad for you as an individual and what happens if this definition is completely different for the person who is standing next to you. She is also giving us reasons why people are different, and maybe because of this there are wars and conflicts and what is the purpose of God then?

So the movie has a lot interesting points and plots, and so the cast is good and a nice idea, which is a cool setting to talk about these mentioned issues, kinda problems in this world.

The camera is a mixture of cold and warm pictures. Cold and dark when it comes up to the drama which effects the family and Mack, and warm when it comes up to enter the Shack, sunny, warm, and full of love screened scenes. Almost like a paradise or Garden of Eden. Cute and lovely setting of the camera.

Settings are most of the like a Shack and what we expect to find in there.

Music is okay, sometimes a bit too dramatic, sometimes too much over the emotions, and it wants to emphase the mood of Mack, which I did not like a lot.

The movie has no effects.

Now the movie is based on a book, and a lot of people told me already, that they liked it a lot, I did not read the book, and so it is very difficult to compare between the book and the movie. Some people say it changed my life.

But I think do not expect too much from the movie because if I have an imagination of God and what I believe in, and then you watch a movie about this, and then your expectation were not fulfilled, then it is difficult to like the movie or not.

What I like about the movie:

I like the idea of a movie, which is a topic about something what we all believe in, wether it is God or not, wether it is something spiritual or not. We all do not talk about this a lot. So the movie is a good reason to talk about it, and also the relationship between people and what is good or not for you in your life, and here the movie won't give any direction, so we are all for us in our mindset. That is a good idea and topic.

What I did not like about the movie:

It is a religious movie, and the religion the movies comes up with is just one and not all possible choices of religion. The movie is too long, and what it wants to tell us keeps on repeating and repeating all the time. Mack as main character does not convince me in his performance and most of time in main parts it is not convincing when someone is mad.

At the end it is a good movie, but not good as perfect.

For its genre Drama and Fantasy as well as over all rating I give it 4 out of 10 points.

Enjoy it anyway if you are interested in those kinds of topics and have fun watching.

Thank you, bye bye.

NEW IN - IN THEATERS ON MARCH 22, 2017

I want to start a new feature on my blog and I want to introduce the new movies coming in for the next Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

There are three mainstream movies (including trailer and storyline), which I think are worth enough to talk about and to watch, and a lot of offset movies, which I will mention just in short spot.

So here we go

1. LIFE

TRAILER

The new movie with Ryan Reynolds aka Deadpool and Rebecca Ferguson also known from movies like The Girl On The Train or Mission Impossible Rogue Nation and Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

2. POWER RANGER

TRAILER
A movie which I am really excited for with for example Naomi Scott and the story about five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Trivia & Production Notes

  • Saban launched Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a live action television series more than 20 years ago, and the series has been in continuous production ever since. It has subsequently grown into one of the world's most popular and recognizable brands, with toys, apparel, costumes, video games, DVD's, comic books and other merchandise.
  • Elizabeth Banks will play classic Power Ranger character Rita Repulsa, an alien witch who has designs on the planet (Hollywood Reporter, 2/2/16).
  • Weta Workshop (The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District 9) is in charge of suit design and visual effects.
  • Lionsgate said that they hope to do “five, six or seven of [Power Rangers films]" (Deadline.com, 5/26/16).

3. CHIPS

 TRAILER

Jon Baker (Shepard) and Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Peña) (also recently seen in GET OUT as the TSA Cop Frank) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job—inside the CHP.

The inexperienced rookie and hardened pro are teamed together, but clash more than click, so kickstarting a partnership is easier said than done. But with Baker’s bike skills combined with Ponch’s street savvy it might just work…if they don’t drive each other crazy along the way.

These are the movies I can recommend to you, so we have a SCI-FI drama with LIFE, a super hero movie action and thriller film with THE POWER RANGERS, and an action and comedy movie with CHIPS, where I hope that the title is not saying all the needed about the movie (shit happens).

But then there are also some good underdogs like:

Car Dogs (Comedy)
The House of Willow Street (Suspense)
Victor (Drama)
Bokeh (SCI-FI)
The Last Face (War)
&
 Slamma Jamma (Sports)

Hope you will find your favorite movie, which will come in next week on March 22, 2017 and have fun and enjoy the stay in the cinemas.

THE FOUNDER (2016) - REVIEW

The story of Ray Kroc, a salesman who turned two brothers' innovative fast food eatery, McDonald's, into one of the biggest restaurant businesses in the world with a combination of ambition, persistence, and ruthlessness.

TRAILER

Writer: (as Robert Siegel)

Stars: , ,

Before I start with the review and the usual points which are important for a review I just want to point out that this is a movie from 2016, but since we have cool down phase in cinemas and there is off peak season, this movie might be in cinemas at the end of April 2017.

So here we go with the review.

The Founder's running time is about 115 minutes, is PG-13 rated and starts in cinemas (only a few) on April 27, 2017 and takes us into the year 1954. Having worked as a salesman most of his adult life, Ray Kroc has been a hustler in most senses of the word. That hustling has made him the target of derision among certain circles for peddling what have ended up being more novelty or faddish than useful products, but it has also placed more than a comfortable roof in Arlington Heights, Illinois over his and his wife Ethel's heads. Ethel, however, wishes that he placed as much effort into being at home with her than he is in selling, his current job of peddling five-spindle milkshake makers for Prince Castle which has him constantly on the road going from one drive-in restaurant to another. It is because of the beefs he has with the whole drive-in experience (bad food, bad service) in constantly eating at such establishments while on the road that he becomes enthralled with the concept of McDonald's Restaurant in San Bernardino, California, it owned and operated by brothers Richard McDonald and Maurice McDonald - Dick and Mac. Unlike most of Ray's customers who will only require one five-spindle milkshake maker at any given time, the McDonald brothers end up purchasing eight machines for their single restaurant. Primarily on Dick's initiative, the brothers have redesigned the whole concept of the drive-in restaurant to focus on quality food through a smaller menu of only the most popular items (hamburgers, fries, sodas), consistency in product so that customers know what to expect from time to time, change in the target market from lounging teenagers to families, and perhaps most importantly speed in having any order ready within seconds, many of these goals achievable through assembly line styled production. They had tried franchising previously, but failed in that they lost control over many of those aspects which made their San Bernardino restaurant successful. Despite believing Ray a bit off kilter (in other words, crazy), the McDonald brothers somewhat hesitantly enter into a contract with him to be their head of franchising. Ray's experience in the job is not without its problems, especially as his franchisees seem to be making more money than he is, he who is only breaking even. He is not averse to advancing ideas provided to him to get ahead - original ideas which are not his forte - he seeing the brothers as his biggest problem in they thinking small. These differences lead to a standoff between Ray and the brothers, the former who has a different goal for "his" business in profit and stoking his own ego seemingly his main priorities.

For many the thought nowadays of takeaway food is but a convenience we all enjoy (some more than others) but at one stage during human history the very idea of having your burger, fries and ice-cold Coke ready in mere seconds was a novelty that began sweeping the nation of America before taking over the world as we now know it today.

A staple for over 60 years, McDonalds restaurants are a mainstay of everyday life, a reliable source of cheeseburger delicacies, crispy French fries and refreshing beverages that continue to supply the goods to those both young and those young at heart. When consuming McDonalds however, its unlikely many of us have ever truly considered where this establishment was born from and thankfully for all us, the story is a real doozy.

It's often the case these days that high profile, well-marketed biopics are reliable as a Big Mac (you always know what you're going to get) but John Lee Hancock's film is imbedded with both an energy and pace that elevates it above the usual bio-fair and with another awards worthy turn from Michael Keaton as its centrepiece, this enthralling slice of history is a fabulously entertaining ride tinged in nostalgic 1950's vibes and garnished with a quick- smart script from The Wrestler screenwriter Robert D. Siegel.

Capturing the time, place and allurement of this mankind changing business model, The Founder does a great job of transporting us back in time as we ride alongside struggling salesman Ray Kroc, whose eyes are opened when he comes across the McDonald brothers, whose business model of "fast food" finally gives Ray the chance his so longed for all his life, to make a buck and then some.

Keaton's performance as Kroc is quite the feat. His a genuinely cold and calculated character but as the film begins we are happy to see him put in the hard yards as his franchise model of stores takes off but as the brand grows so does Kroc's ego and Keaton's performance morphs naturally as it does in fascinating and unexpected ways.

Come the films later stages, the real feat of Keaton's turn comes into the spotlight and what we're left with is a layered character brought to life by the performer, whether it's in comical situations or brutally raw moments shared with lawyers, Keaton is on fire here and while his ably supported by the likes of Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch as the unfortunate McDonald brothers Dick and Mac, The Founder is founded off the back of Keaton's turn and whilst unlikely that this film will find itself in to many awards categories, Keaton is looming as a key player in the upcoming awards season.

The Founder is one of those rare biopics that grabs you from the get-go and doesn't let up.

The camera is stable, not too fast, not too much action, it is focusing on the settings of the movie, it follows the dialogues, and is most of the time good.

The music is also good, not too loud, not too much, and also not too dominant.

The settings are like what we can expect and imagine from the 50s, cool landscapes, nice colours, and also great scenes shwoing that the action is really transported from the 50s in 2017s version of the screen by the 50s.

The movie has no effects.

What I like about the movie:
- well shot, scored and acted studio film that tells a story worth telling (plus one of the best advertisements McDonald's has never paid for), The Founder offers a fascinating insight into the beginnings of the McDonald's brand that also gives us an equally fascinating real life figure and another chance for the career revival of Michael Keaton to continue on its merry way.

What I don't like about the movie:
- reminds me too much of The Wolf of the Wallstreet, it is hard in language, sarcastic, and sexual language is often used. The movie tries to be a copy of The Wolf of Wallstreet, but it could be more harder, more direct in offending language to be a real copy. You will notice that it wants to be like this, but it fails here.

All in all this is a movie for all who love biopics, who are fans of The Wolf of Wallstreet, who like Drama, and who wants to see the history about the biggest and best fast food restaurant in the world.

Accordingly to this I will give The Founder 8 out of 10 points for its genre (biopic, drama, and history) and overall 7 out of 10 points and this is it with the review of The Founder, in chosen cinemas on April 27, 2017. But also already available on DVD and BluRay, which might be a better choice here.

GET OUT (2017) - REVIEW

A young African-American man visits his Caucasian girlfriend's mysterious family estate. Sounds unreal, sounds, funny, sound also strange, and so I am talking about the best movie right now at IMDB (8.3/10), 99% score at Rotten Tomatoes, and a Hall of Fame score of 83 out of 100:

GET OUT (2017)

TRAILER

GET OUT (2017) has a runtime of 106 minutes, the movie is R rated, and starts in the USA and Asia-Pacific area on March 15, in Europe end of May (on further details yet known).

Storyline:

A young black man visits his white girlfriend's family estate where he learns that many of its residents, who are black, have gone missing, and he soon learns the horrible truth when a fellow black man on the estate warns him to "get out". He soon learns this is easier said than done.

As you can see in the trailer already, which caught me so much, when I saw the first sequences in December already, and I still have goosebumps when I remember the movie, that there is something strange happening at his family gathering, and the storyline tells us also already to GET OUT actually. But about the story later on a bit more details, without telling you too much details.

Let's talk about the

Cast

Daniel Kaluuya
as Chris Washington
Allison Williams
as Rose Armitage
Catherine Keener
as Missy Armitage
Bradley Whitford
as Dean Armitage
Caleb Landry Jones
as Jeremy Armitage

So Daniel Kaluuya as Chris Washington is guy who will be brought to the village, he is the main character, and freaking good, and I mean it. He acts funny at the beginning of the movie, he turns into a serious man, who wants to impress the family, and at the end of the movie, he turns into the stranger, where you do not know anymore, wether the happenings are real or not, also the way he changes, his scared faces, and his brutal way acting and of being that person, who wants to come home and who will do anything to survive, is so awesome, it is so impressive, and outstanding in his performance.

Then we have Allison Williams as Rose Armitage (the name is program), Chris's girlfriend, an actor with her very own story, and be sure, she is not that nice girlfriend who just wants you to visit her family. Her performance is okay, especially at the beginning of the movie, which starts really slow, when it comes up to catch the audience, and who creates the emotional part / character of the movie. It is always important for a movie, that there are character, who can create a contact to the audience, and in GET OUT it's her.

I don't want to talk about the other characters here, because I might tell you too much, and since we get an impression of them in the trailer already, it should be fine, discover it on your own, you won't regret it.

The camera is good, it creates an atmosphere especially at the beginning of the movie, which is like the 90s, we have Indian Summer time, and it is great to see how slow a movie can start, how funny, but then it turns into a mostlikely horror movie. The camera knows how to follow this transition, speeds up, creates dark and scary moment, and follows the main character where he goes (Chris), so it is like a third man movie.

The setting is the house of the visited family most of the time, nothing special, but the scary moments are very spontaneous, and you never know, where the movie will take you next. It plays with you, it wants to confuse you, and it wants to catch you, that you cannot get out also (speaking about your mind and attention), which is at the same time the best and strongest effect of the movie.

This is all what I can say about the movie, camera, settings, and effects, as well as characters.
As promised here are some details about the movie, and after that I will conclued.

Sketch comedian Jordan Peele (of Comedy Central's Key and Peele) makes his directing debut with a horror movie that sticks closely to genre convention even as its ribbing of white liberals hardens into a social point. A young photographer (Daniel Kaluuya) travels to upstate New York with his white girlfriend (Allison Williams) to stay with her easygoing parents (Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford) and meet their middle-class friends; plunged into this white world, he endures a series of awkward and condescending remarks and begins to suspect his hosts have sinister intentions toward him. Peele, backed by the cagey horror outfit Blumhouse Productions (Insidious, Paranormal Activity), demonstrates a fannish love for cliche, which gradually dilutes his idiosyncratic take on the perils of assimilation. With Caleb Landry Jones and Betty Gabriel, wonderful as the family’s spooky black maid.

The movie is super hipped on IMDB, everyone is going to the cinema and watches this movie, so do I agree?

What I like about the movie:
- storyline and telling
- effects
- outstanding performance of the main character Chris
- spooky and jump scares at the right moment, when they are needed
- last but not least it is finally again a movie, which scared you and creates so much psycho drama also in your mind, that I had goosebumps the whole time. I watched it during the weekly screen casts, and yes I will go to the movie house also again just to have the special cinema feeling and I guess the movie will be much more better

What I don't like about the movie:
- only one thing: too many cliche about black and white couples, but I guess it was usual during the 90s, so it is just a minor minus point

Means at the end: you have to watch it. GET OUT is awesome, scary, dives into your mind, it is psycho, horror, and fun at the same, but combined in a great way. Good job by the Director, great debut, and again an oustanding performance of the main characters.

So I will give GET OUT for his genre horror and mystery for sure and well deserved 10 out of 10 points, all in all compared to all the other movies out there 9.5 out of 10 points and GET OUT really means to get out, that is the reason why I used the writting GET OUT, and so I wish you a lot of spooky and great moments watching this must have watched movie.

ROOM 2015 - REVIEW

A brilliant movie, which was in theaters only for one and about a young boy is raised within the confines of a small shed is the topic of today's review and so I will talk about

ROOM (2015)

TRAILERS:

STORYLINE:

ROOM tells the extraordinary story of Jack, a spirited 5-year-old who is looked after by his loving and devoted mother. Like any good mother, Ma dedicates herself to keeping Jack happy and safe, nurturing him with warmth and love and doing typical things like playing games and telling stories. Their life, however, is anything but typical--they are trapped--confined to a 10-by-10-foot space that Ma has euphemistically named Room. Ma has created a whole universe for Jack within Room, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that, even in this treacherous environment, Jack is able to live a complete and fulfilling life. But as Jack's curiosity about their situation grows, and Ma's resilience reaches its breaking point, they enact a risky plan to escape, ultimately bringing them face-to-face with what may turn out to be the scariest thing yet: the real world. Written by A24

Room's runtime is about 118 minutes and is based on a book / novel, telling the story of a woman and her son who are living in a room, which is not bigger than 10 square meters. If you read the book or even if not, I am not going to tell more about the story. Why are they there? What is the reason? Why is the woman there with her kid? Watch the movie to find out, believe in me, it is worth to watch it.

The main characters are Ma played by Brie Larson, who was crowned with the Academy Award for this role and her son Jack played by Jacob Tremblay.

The story has also a historical background, it is comparable to the theory of Platon, a Greek man who told us about philosophy and 3 equals.

The mother is doing everything to protect that kid.

The kid played by Jacob Tremblay is so absolutely outstanding in his performance, he has nothing else than his mum, the relationship between them is so deep, that nothing can split them. They don't have anyone else.

Both characters perform in a way which is incredible. Unbelieveable true, he should have gotten an Academy Award, too, even thoug he is a kid. The emotions and setting on how they perform is awesome.

The movie is about 118 minutes, absolutely not even one second is wasted or boring, it is catching you in every second, and also reflecting to yourself questioning what would you do in that situation.

The camera is very detailed in that movie, of course we only have one little, a lot of POV (point of view) angles are used, especially when it comes up to tell us the POV of the kid. It is most of time static, the colors of the movie is saturated which gives us a better feeling to dive into the emotions, sad and happy emotions.

That is all what I want to tell you about the movie, because the challenge in this review is that you might have read the book.

At the end I have to say that Room is a movie, underground gendered, which is Drama or Thriller,  which is so great to see, the love between the mother and son, which cannot be separated, is so awesome. Also the sub characters are so great to see, the performance of all of them is outstanding.

What I like about the movie:

EVERYTHING

What I don't like about the movie:

NOTHING

I just love it, and especially when you watch it on big screens, with friends or family, I guarantee, that you will cry.

10 out of 10 points being a Drama / Thriller and also 10 out of 10 points compared to all the other movies out there and so I wish you a lot of fun and emotions while watching Room (2015), to purchase on DVD or Blu-Ray.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 2017 - REVIEW

An adaptation of the Disney fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love is coming to the theaters on March 16, 2017, and so here is my review of

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 2017

TRAILER
(US Final Version)

Beauty and the Beast's running time is about 129 minutes, and it is rated PG for some action violence, peril and frightening images. The movie will be in cinemas on March 15, 2017 in the USA and on March 16, 2017 worldwide and it is the real cut movie of Disney's blockbuster from 1991.

Disney's animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast. A young prince, imprisoned in the form of a beast, can be freed only by true love. What may be his only opportunity arrives when he meets Belle, the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was enchanted.

Let me say something before we go on with the characters, camera, effects, scenes, and the review. I expected more of this movie, but at the end I have to say that Beauty and the Beast is not even good enough, which let's me say WOW when I left the screening cast.
Beauty and the Beast in my absolute favorite Disney movie, I went to Paris to the studios 3 times, when I was still a kid, I watched the live shows of Beauty and the Beast and also the musical. The 2017 is good but I expected more. Why this, well you can read at the end of the review.

Let us talk about the characters first: a lot of Hollywood stars joined the cast, and the list might be endless, so I will just talk about the main characters.

The main character is played by Emma Watson as Belle, who is the Beauty in the movie. She has a lot of screen time, and I mean this, her character is girly, it is sometimes shy, and sometimes too much in her way of acting, which means she has parts, especially when it comes to love scene, where is not conviencing.

By the way Beauty and the Beast deals with a lot of social problems, like sexuality, especially about gay and lesbian love, it deals with different people earning different amount of money, and it deals with love in a special manner, and shows the sex scenes, so the camera and the scenes is not afraid to point out problems, which we still have today, which is a big value for the movie.

The second main character is the Beast played by Dan Stevens, also known from movies like The Ticket or Night at the Museum. He is most of the time a virtual actor, so the Beast in animated. The character of the beast is a mad one, and compared to the version from 1991 it won't change, also not at the end. Well, Belle and the Beast fall in love but it is different, and the Director Bill Condon wants to tell a different ending, and he mixes Beast's character in that way that he is always evil, strong, powerful, and also again in the love scenes not convincing.

Then we have Gaston played by Luke Evans, he is in love with himself (see the trailer), evil, funny, and strong as we know him from the 1991s version already. He is as expected. Good.

Then we have last but not least Kevin Kline playing Maurice, Belle's father. He has only a few minutes in the movie, not really a lot, but in those scenes, where we can see him, he is just awesome, and we don't see Kevin Kline so often anymore on the cinema screen.

These are the main characters, so let's talk about the camera. To make it short, it is awesome: the screening, the details of the beast, when the camera goes really close to him, the landscapes, the castle full screening and the motion time and moves are great. Good job by Tobias A. Schiessler (Hancock or Dreamgirls)

The effects are discribed already in the section above, just add one thing: the effects are nice to see, the animation, and settings of the castle and its citizens are cool, it makes fun to watch and to dive into the positive atmosphere of the character like Jean-Luc and Tassilo.

The scenes are the same like in the version from 1991, transformed into real life and into 2017.

So if you ask me what I like about the movie it is:
- great dancing parts
- love and feelings
- great scenes
- cast
- camera
- 2017 lookalike

But now what I don't like about the movie:
First it is way too long, remember it has a running time of 129 minutest, Disney's version from 1991 almost 75, so we have almost one hour more screening time, which is too much.
After 20 minutes, the movie turns into an introduction of the Beast part for like 45 minutes, so we get more details and an character intro, which is about almost half of the movie's running time. In those 45 minutes, there happens nothing, which is useful of the whole story.

Second is, that the love between the Beauty and the Beast is not convincing, and it is a fantasy and romance movie, but the characters and the cast are playing to plastic and to much following the script and screen play, that it does not catch the audience, and this is a fail for the movie because of its genre.

Third, we have too many songs in the music, that I had the feeling that I am watching a musical, not a cinema movie. Ariana Grande has (in the original version) 5 or 6 songs, which is too much, I am not going to the theaters to hear her singing, I want to watch a movie. But this is not happening.

Last but not least, the movie has only one magical moment, and it comes very very late, when they actually fall in love already, and in my eyes it is misplaced, I cannot provide details right now, because I don't want to tell you too much, before you watched it.

So at the end, the movie didn't achieve my expectations. It is great to see the remake of my favorite Disney movie, childhood memories are there again, the 45 minutes part should be left out, less music, and more feelings and love from the character into their roles would have been great.

I did not expect a lot to be honest, I thought let's have fun with a new version transformed into technology and social responsibilities of 2017. The problems mentioned above are great to see this happening in a Disney movie, does not happen often, but the result is lower than my expectations.

If you are a fan of Ariana Grand and of Beauty and the Beast in generl and you want to experience a love romance with a cheesy popcorn flavour, then go and watch it. If not it is okay, it is not something important that you missed. Sorry, but I am honest.

So for its genre as a fantasy and romance movie I will give it 8 out of 10 points, compared to all the other movie universe, and as I said lower than my expectations 6 out of 10, and though it might be forgotten too soon again.

That is it with my review, and so I wish you a lot of fun in the theaters with Beauty and the Beast, in on March 17, worldwide.

KONG - SKULL ISLAND - REVIEW

A team of explorers and soldiers travel to an uncharted island in the Pacific, unaware that they are crossing into the domain of monsters, including the mythic Kong.

Trailer

Kong Skull Island's running time are 118 minutes, and the movie is Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for brief strong language, and before I start to talk about the movie I want to say something in general:
I love creature-feature movies and to see King Kong back on the screen is awesome, the movie is dark, it is an evil creature movie literally and the action and effects done by LucasFilms is insane, fast, hard, brutal, and also full of evil methods, so that the movie itself turns into a really hard, almost comparable to Apocalypse Now, which is a huge compliment for the movie. But let's start with the storyline first.

Storyline

It's 1971, a team of explorers with a company of soldiers are following myth ,legend in the Pacific amindst runors of an island where creatures both prehistoric and monstrous are supposed to live. Soon they come across Skull Island , the very island of lore and legend. The creatures they soon come across make the soldiers and explorers running for their very lives. Soon Kong shows up to let all know that He is King of Skull Island and top of the food chain. Will they survive to tell their story? Will beauty win the heart of the beast?

About the characters I don't want to talk about them because in kong Skull Island it is pretty quickly clear that those characters, who are taking part in that expedition, have a reason to go to the Island, and to talk about the characters here would be too much spoiling, and I don't want you to steel the fun and motivation to watch the movies.
For me the best roles were done by John Godman, who showed already in 10 Cloverfield Line, that he is epic artist and performer, and also in Boston, where he had to play the main character. In Kong Skull Island, he is really thin, compared to his latest movies, and Bill Randa played by John Godman is the initializator of the expedition.

Brie Larson, freshly crowned Oscar's Academy Award winner is again taking over the part of the female, acting and interacting with Kong, but compared to the Kong version of Peter Jackson in 2007, she is rather an off character.

Watch out for Hank Marlow aka John Reily, he is living on the Island already for a longer, why that, you have to watch, but he is the guy connecting fun, and sarcasm in on person.

Let's talk about the camera which is awesome and epic: 70s style, slow motions, super slomos, sunset feelings and screenings, and the handling, motion, and action of the camera is really really good. I had goosebumps non stop while watching the movie, absolutely great job again by Larry Fong, you may know him having watched Batman V Superman or 300 - Rise of the Empire.

What makes this movie so special: the effects.
The sound of the movie is insane, and my advice to you is: watch it in Dolby Atmo. The helicopter sounds, the bombs, Kongs voice and shouts and the deep and dark voice of John Godman is incredible in the Dolby Atmo version.

What I like about the movie:
- 70s style
- Kong (always a pleasure to see on the big screen)
- effects
- Actors
- Locations (Vietnam, Hawaii, Gold Coast of Queensland, and Moretone Bay)

What I don't like about the movie:
- 2nd half has a slight turn to become a trash creature feature movie because of the actings and rolling of the characters
- too many impressed screens by the actors, when they see Kong (6 times, and it is getting boring when you always see the same impressed and scared faces of the actors when Kong appears)

All in all the movie is a must watch, go to the cinema, again with Dolby Atmo Sound system (highly recommanded), by Popcorn and chips and enjoy 120 minutes of pure action and insanity by Kong.
This is a popcorn, compared to all the others the movie might disappear again in 4 or 5 weeks, but for fans of Kong and for creature feature movie it is a must, really. The 120 minutes are definately not boring at all, the motion and action is so fast, that you don't have the feeling to watch a two hours movie, great cast and all in all pure fun.
I am impressed, watch it, enjoy the stay in the cinema!

8.5 out of 10 points for this epic Kong Skull Island Epos by Mr. Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
